fri.day mesh!

You know what store I really like? fri.day. In the days before mesh, I shopped at fri.day ALL OF THE TIME. They have everything you’d ever need for a basic, classy, cute wardrobe- sweaters, tshirts, camis, jeans, shoes, cute little dresses and rompers, accessories… they even have hairs and poses! One of the things I always LOVED about fri.day was that every item, whether system clothes or prims- every single item of clothing- has a demo. I wish every store in SL would take the time to do this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought something and put it on and never worn it because there is something funky about it you couldn’t see in the ad photo. In cases like that, I usually don’t go back to that store ever for fear of wasting more $L on stuff that won’t work out. fri.day has retained my loyal patronage because of their quality items and their DEMOS. I have tried on lots of their stuff, bought some, not bought others… but I know I can always trust that what I do buy will fit just right and look great because I could try it on first!

Ok, so anyways, ever since mesh arrived on the scene I have been waiting and wondering when fri.day will jump aboard the mesh train. I still wear a lot of system and primmy clothes, but mesh has definitely taken over my wardrobe in a big way. For a little while, I was afraid fri.day might not get into mesh and just fade away. Thankfully, this is not the case. fri.day has recently come out with a few mesh items and I cannot wait to see more! You can check out the fri.day blog for more news and information. I am so excited that an old favorite is keeping up with the changes in SL and bound to become a new favorite all over again!

Bounce This Poses for TOSL Hunt

The Taste of Second Life 2nd Birthday Hunt is under way! This pose from Bounce this poses is absolutely adorable. It’s called Beach Stroll. I don’t know about you, but as soon as I got my hands on this pose, I just couldn’t wait to lure.. err, invite someone to the beach!

Oh, and let me digress for a moment. Fri.day came out with this cute mesh tank top for Fifty Linden Friday, and that makes me SO SO EXCITED! Sn@tch at CHIC²

Hey guys! Look at this fun bathing suit I grabbed from Sn@tch at CHIC²! I am a big fan of the vintage look, and the prim bows just take it to a whole new level of cute! There are a bunch of fab colors available. This great hair from The Alice Project went just right with the look! Her styles are so different than other designers, and really well done.

I played around with dodge and burn for the first time on this photo. I found a tutorial here on how to use dodge and burn without damaging the original photo. I’m definitely not a master at this technique by any means, but it’s fun to see the additional depth that can be added. I will keep playing around with it and hopefully getting better!

Mesh Around Hunt Previews!

Hey! I have something fun to tell you about! Now, you may have heard a little bit about this crazy thing called mesh… it’s been around for a while now, and if you know anything at all about SL fashion, you know that mesh is EXPLODING as a design material. So many designers are moving into mesh territory, but there are still quite a few SL residents who are hesitant about mesh. With this in mind, an all-mesh hunt called Mesh Around was born!

This hunt is a GREAT way to grab a few mesh items to try, see how you like them, fall in love with mesh, and then go buy ALL THE MESH EVER!! The hunt will run from June 1-15, and will be grid-wide.  Wanna see a few of the great things that you’ll be able to find?

This fabulous beaded necklace is from Aura. I love it because it is bright and summery and, being mesh, it moves WITH, not THROUGH my av. Also, this adorable skirt from Pepper will be out for you to find. The skirt is rigged, abut the pockets are not, so you can wear one or both (or neither) and you can reposition them if needed. I love all of the details of the items in the pockets. I could definitely see wearing this to the beach, and not having to bring a purse!

Sidebar: I also want to mention this new !lamb hair though it is NOT in the hunt. I seriously love every new mesh release !lamb comes up with. They just keep getting better and better.

Stumblebum & My Attic @ The Deck

Summer is upon us (in the Northern Hemisphere) and it couldn’t be more evident in the SL fashion world. So many fantastic designers are coming out with adorable summery releases! Sailors Take Warning

The new collection is out at The Dressing Room Blue! This dress immediately caught my attention. It is absolutely lovely. The only thing I was disappointed about was that I normally wear an XS in standard sizing, but there was no XS option in the pack. I modded my shape to a size S and the dress fit just fine, though. It was definitely worth the little bit of extra effort to wear this great dress. Also, I recently bought this new Magika hair. If you haven’t tried Magika yet, I honestly don’t know what you are waiting for. It is so well done, there are such cute styles… just… go. Go check it out.

Here is another of the lovely Magika hairs I picked up, along with these great pants from Izzie’s and this cute tank from Suicidal Unborn. The tank has a bottom prim attachment which is also really cute, but for these poses it worked better without! This Yoga mat was only 99L. I found it here on marketplace. You get a bunch of colors and it comes with 12 poses! Just perfect for when SL drama is stressing you out and you need to relax.
