New Girl Poses @ Bounce This

Good morning! I have something exciting to show you! The oh-so-talented blogger and pose maker Bouncer Criss has released a new girl pose pack. As a blogger, I am CONSTANTLY on the hunt for great poses, and let me tell you- I like these a lot. Now, I might be a tiny bit biased because he asked me to pose for the ad photos, but as I was, I was going “aww” and “ooh” cuz I really really like them.

When the dust settles…

Super quick post today, as Saturdays are almost always busy busy busy in RL for me…

Foppish! Have you heard of it? I hadn’t until I was stalking, er… browsing people’s photos on Flickr and came across a few with these adorable sweaters. I had to go check the store out, obviously, because… I might possibly be addicted to sweaters. This version with the skulls is actually a group gift and the group is free to join, SO… no excuse, really. Go grab one. There are a couple other patterns available, as well, and they are darling so make sure you check those out, too. The whole store is very very cute.

The only thing I noticed when trying things on was that their sizes run a little different than Standard Size, but a few little mods or trying a different size isn’t really a big deal to me when the clothes are this cute. I usually wear a Standard XS and this jacket fits me perfectly in size XXS.

Blogging with Shay!

The darling Harvest Denzo recently issued a blogger challenge called Posting With Others. I LOVE the idea, and I have loved past posts with friends, but this one was a little different. The stipulation is that you have to post with someone you may not be as familiar with. The recluse in me cringed a little, but when Shayariel Teardrop sent out an open call on Plurk, I jumped at the chance!

We met up at Izzie’s to play in the autumn loveliness.

Shay bet me she could balance me on the handlebars of her bike, and even though I was in stiletto boots, I didn’t die!

After leaving tire tracks all over the sim (sorry, Izzie!), we started chatting.  Well, being Plurkers, chatting maaaay have turned to a little bit of gossiping…

More Hair Fair 2012

Hey guys! So, by this time (hopefully) the initial hype has died down a little bit and it *might* be possible for you to get in to Hair Fair. If regions are full or it is laggy for you, I encourage you to keep trying. You can help cut down on lag by wearing system clothes and detaching anything with a script. I actually know people who wear a full alpha and just go invisible, no AO, no nothing. My personal shopping strategy is, I go grab demos of every hair I like, go home, and try them all on. Then, I just go get the ones I actually want. This way, I’m not spending time demoing everything there and more people can get in and out. Again, here’s a list of every url for every booth. Use it to teleport, and you will be rerouted to the main landing gate for the sim. Once you’re there, just teleport again and it will send you right to the store. Magic!

So, I have a few more hair styles to show you, but let me tell you something about this outfit first. So, I was hanging out and saw someone wearing these shorts. I though “Ooh, those would be PERFECT with this Tres Blah tee I just grabbed from Collabor 88. So, I found out where they were from, hopped over to [AddiCt] and bought them. I put the two together, and there was a GAP. The shorts and shirt did not meet, and there was an inch or so of bare skin showing between… I was so sad, because it was not enough to look intentional, and the shirt is supposed to look tucked in. THEN I remembered the Ballet.Tee i got from Fri.day! I put the grey Fri.day tee on under the Tres Blah tee. They were not the same shade of grey. THANKFULLY, the Fri.day tee was mod, so I just tinted it a little darker and voilà! SO, If you want to recreate this look, you will have to do a similar form of magic. It’s pretty easy, though.

Can I just say that it was SO smart of Sakuri Myanamotu (LOGO creator) to make a mesh side braid that rests on the right shoulder? I have TWO other mesh side braids, and they both drape left. Kudos, Ms. Myanamotu. I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but that was a really smart move.

Hair Fair!

Ok, you guys, let the countdown begin. HAIR FAIR IS ALMOST HERE!!

Needless to say, I am beside myself with excitement. If there’s one thing I buy more of than anything else in Second Life, it’s HAIR. I have more hair than I know what to do with. I actually considered taking photos of myself wearing every hair I own and making some sort of collage for this post. I considered it, then remembered that I am not a masochist.

I love how different hairs in SL convey different things. There are wild hairs, sleek hairs, fancy updos, playful pigtails, beautiful braids, funny looks, retro locks, short hair, long hair… and new wonderful styles come out all of the time. And ever since the rise in mesh hair… I am pretty much constantly broke. What would SL be without the amazing hair creators? Remember system hair? Do not want.

On top of being a great place to spend all your $L on new hairs, Hair Fair is also a charitable event. 15% of all profits from all sales at Hair Fair will be donated to Wigs for Kids. So, not only will you look fabulous after shopping at Hair Fair, you  will also feel fabulous, knowing you’ve helped a child feel and look more like themselves.

So, instead of making a collage for all my hairs, I made a smaller collage with a few hairs I really love. I could have done multiple per creator, but I stuck to just one per. I didn’t want to make a GIANT photo, so I just chose 9 from the designers whose hairs I buy most often, or whose hairs I feel look best on my av. It really is amazing how changing only your hair can change your whole look!

OOh! I almost forgot! Take this link, group secondlife:///app/group/2e30d166-f3e5-e2de-ff72-b3da2d06ded2/about and post it in local chat and JOIN THIS GROUP. It is the demo group for Hair Fair. The designers will actually be sending out hair demos so you can try them on ahead of time. How awesome is that!?

Zombieeessss!!! AHHHHH!

Oh wait, it’s just ZombiePopcorn Brand, and there’s a new rotation out! You can find a bunch of item previews from lots of really talented bloggers on the ZombiePopcorn website. My very favorite things from this rotation are definitely these mesh strapless sundresses from Paper.Doll. The textures are really pretty, and they fit just right. Something New

So, I prettied up my alt for the 500L Avatar Challenge, and now I can’t stop playing with her! I have been making sure not to spend too much on her, but I just couldn’t resist the new Mon Tissu releases and this !lamb hair. The necklace from Izzie’s was essential to finish off the look. Every girl on a budget deserves an occasional splurge!

This outfit doesn’t come in under 500L, but I did find a couple of really great freebies! This skin is a group gift from Mynerva and I think it is SO pretty. These eyes were a group gift from Mayfly.

Sometimes I get sick of looking at my main, so having another “doll” to play with is super fun! Are you working on your 500L AC entry? I hope so, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!
