Halloween is fast approaching, and The Costume Ball, presented by The Ego Co. is the place to be to find dark, lovely, and fun items for your goulish and masquerade fancies. And I do mean fancy. Costume Ball is high class ghoulism.

Sweet Like…

Hey! I want to show you the outfit I was running around in last night. I feel like a trip to the ice cream shop rolled in cotton candy, and I like it! I love to play with colors, especially in SL.

I’ve told you a couple times about this new Magika hair and how I bought the dips pack and how much I love it… I wanted to show you one of the great color combos!  This particular one reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream. YUM!

I wore the dark version of Roza Basic by Glam Affair so that my brows matched my roots. Someone recently commented that they felt like the darker version wasn’t  as soft as the blonde version, but I don’t think that’s fully accurate. I think the tone you wear, your facial features, and the clothes and hair you pair it with lend more to the “harshness”of your look. The dark brows are a really nice shade of brown, and not too dark at all, in my opinion.

The necklace I’m wearing is by LaGyo and is available at Collabor88 this month. It has a texture change menu with eight color options for the plumes AND four different metal options, so it’s like… thirty-two necklaces in one!

This tank is from Tee*fy, and the pants are from The Secret Store. I told you about the pants yesterday, and I’m pretty sure I’ve blogged a different color of this tank in the past. I love them. I wear them. They are now staples in my wardrobe.

Please direct your attention to these shoes. Try not to drool. Too late, you say? I understand. These shoes are probably the most adorable things in my inventory. They’re the Lovable Pumps  from The Secret Store, and I’d call that name exactly accurate. They are very lovable. They come in different pastels, brights, browns, and some “extras,” which have patterns.  Now wipe your mouth and go grab a pair or five.

My pose is part of the “It’s Casual” pack at Exposeur. The pack has 5 poses WITH mirrors. I wish all pose makers did mirrors. It really helps to have them for those times when you love a pose but your hair or a clothing item doesn’t work, but would work perfectly if the pose was only facing the other way. Yay for mirrors!

SO Much Newness!

Hey guys! I have some fun stuff to show you! How about I start at the top and work my way down?

In my last post, I mentioned that Magika had released new hairs. This is another of those fantastic hairs, called Yesterday. As with the other hair, i got the dips pack. It’s so fun to play with the colors and see what combinations go with different outfits!

Next, check out this lovely skin. This is Roza Basic by Glam affair. I know a ton of people have been really hoping that this skin would be released in a full pack after a few versions had been at events such as Collabor88. Roza Basic comes in 6 tones and each tone has a clean version as well as four makeup options. I am wearing the Europa tone which is one step lighter than the America tone I had been wearing of Lilith. I feel like it’s softer and more appropriate for fall since my RL summer tan is fading and I suppose my SL one should, too. These R.icielli freckles really work well with this tone and add to the soft look as well. On to the rest of the outfit:

How many more warm days will we have left to wear fun floral tops before they have to get packed away in favor of warmer clothes? It’s wonderful that the weather is still warm enough in RL for me to not feel weird wearing short sleeves in SL. Soon enough, it’ll be all sweaters and jackets and long underwear.  This is an older top from The Secret Store and is made of system clothing layers and sculpts, but since it’s done well I am happy to continue wearing it! You also can’t beat the ability to re-position something or re-size it here or there. That is one area rigged mesh has a disadvantage in.

Speaking of rigged mesh, however, the advantage is in the smooth, well fitting, beautifully textured items such as these NEW Rise Skinny Jeans (also from The Secret Store). They come in blue denim, which I’m sporting here, light denim, grey denim and black denim. Also available are fun bright colors: apricot, mint, lavender, and candy!

My shoes are from Tee*fy. It was seriously hard to decide which color to buy because every version of these is adorable. I might end up going back and getting the fatpack, or at least one or two of the other colors.

Stuck on You

Do you ever put an outfit together and never want to take it off? It just feels right. For me, this outfit is just the right amount of sexy and classy and fun. I have seriously been wearing it inworld for like 4 days now, which is insane for me. I usually change clothes multiple times a day.

You may have noticed from the past few posts that I have changed skins.  I’ve been kind of in a funk lately, and what better way to break a funk than by making a dramatic change!? I have always really like Mother Goose’s skins but I’d never been quite sure if I could pull one off. All that changed when I demo’d this skin. I fell in love instantly. It is very different from my usual, but still feels like me. I am very happy with it. The only thing I’d mention on the negative side is that some of the body detail is not my favorite, like the hipbones are a little too defined and the shading on the butt is a little odd, but I’m not naked in SL enough for that to deter me. The face and collarbone are usually the big selling points for me in a skin, and this one really hits the mark. I added R.icielli’s freckles over top to complete the look and I cannot stop camming myself. Yeah, I’m one of those.

On to the hair. Magika has released three, yes THREE gorgeous new hairs. They are called Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. I got the dipped color palette for the first time and ugh, I cannot tell you how much I love them without sounding like a complete crazy person. If you can try these hairs on and not want to buy every single one, I don’t even know what to say to you.

I found these jeans while on Marketplace, searching for a pair of mesh skinny jeans that I don’t see everyone and their mother wearing. I had never heard of Etchaflesh, but I hopped over to the inworld store and demo’d. I really really like these jeans a lot. They fit great, the texture is really well done, and my ass looks fabulous. What more could you want?

Last but certainly not least, I almost always pick up the Marukin pose packs at Collabor88, and if you do any type of SL photography, you should too. The poses are always really nice, and since it’s Collabor88, they’re discounted!

See why I never want to take this off? Thank goodness you can’t smell your av in SL because mine might be a little ripe.

Cracked Mirror @ Cinema

So, yesterday I showed you one of the fabulous items available at Cinema, and today I will show you another.

Cracked Mirror has released these amazingly sexy mesh corsets and mesh ruffled knickers for Cinema. They fit perfectly and I don’t know about you, but having ruffles on my butt makes me feel extra fancy.

 

The texture and detail on these pieces is really wonderful. You can almost tell what they’d feel like to touch the laces and the ruffles and the stitching. They come in lots of great colors, so make sure to grab a few (and while you’re at it, grab someone to show them off for)!

Such Great Heights

So, unless you’ve been living under a rock you may have heard of the Cinema event that is currently running. This event is SO cool. A ton of amazing designers have gotten together to bring you all sorts of movie-inspired items. You can read more about this event here!

I am so excited to to show you one of the hairs from Alice Project that’s available at Cinema. It’s called Willow and it’s absolutely fabulous. It comes in two different parts, the blowing hair and small braids (enlarge photo below to see braids better). This way, you can wear it with or without the braids.  It also has a version that blows straight out, one that is angled up and one that is angled downward. As is the case with all Alice Project hairs, it also has the amazing HUD that allows you to change the textures forever and never run out of awesome options. This hair can appropriately be called epic. I almost never use “epic” because the internet people ruined it for me (yes, you) but this is a valid use of the word. Suck it.

I also need to tell you about this beautiful dress by The Secret Store & NYU. It’s a collaboration piece and I really hope to see more of these because this one came out so great. The dress comes in 10 different colors and can be worn in so many ways. It was originally released for Lazy Sunday but it is now available at regular price.

OH, one last thing I’d like to mention. When going to Cinema, as with all large events, PLEASE PLEASE dress down and remove as many scripts as you can. There IS a script gate at Cinema. I believe the limit is 50 scripts, but less is always better. Wear system clothes, remove your HUDS (you know you don’t need them while shopping) and wear unscripted hair and shoes, etc. I have even heard of people who wear full alphas, remove their AO, and just go invisible. I go, look at everything, grab demos, and take them home to try them on. Then, I go back later to get what I want. When we all do little things like this, it helps EVERYONE to have a better experience and greatly reduces lag. Don’t be a selfish shopper!

The Inkwell- A NEW Live Music Venue!

We all get in ruts in SL, I think. I know a lot of bloggers and creators who admit to spending most of their SL time alone on a platform in the sky. Maybe that’s you. Maybe you’ve just been doing the same thing every day for a while now- same people, same things, same places. Some days (or weeks on end) I see no more of SL than the stores I shop in, the places I take photos and my own skybox. My communication is limited to IMs while I edit photos and type up my oh-so-eloquent (lolright) blogposts.

One thing that gets me out of my antisocial zone is music. I love going to a good DJ set or seeing live musicians in SL. I always feel a little less awkward joining in conversations and meeting new people in those atmospheres. If not for music in SL, I would probably have no friends at all to be honest. Every place I call “home” in SL, I found while using search and TPing around randomly. I popped in and there was music and cool people and I stayed.

TPing randomly is actually what brought me to The Inkwell. I was immediately charmed by the building and decor. It’s very eclectic and open. There’s a coffee bar and comfy chairs and a dock and a lovely scenic lawn. (You can see all these photos larger on my Flickr)

Sweet Disposition

I have a secret.

Ok, no I don’t… well, I do have secrets but I’m not telling you those. The secret I’m talking about is The Secret Store, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite stores in SL. This store has both non mesh clothes and an increasing number of mesh items. I love the sweet, fun style and shopping there makes me feel like I am in on some SL fashion secret.

The newest release from The Secret Store is this adorable mesh mini skirt. It comes in seven solids, seven different color versions of the bird print version pictured below, and three other cute fabrics. The bow belt is also its own attachment, so you can wear the skirt with or without!

I also must mention these shoes from Ingenue. Just look at them. So cute. They’re available in tons of colors at Collabor88 this month.

This photo was taken on Cupcake Sim which is seriously one of the cutest places on the grid, and a fabulous place to go shopping because there are about a zillion wonderful stores represented there. That’s where I found this fun ruffly shirt from Kyoko Couture. If you’ve never been there or it’s been a while, you really should go check it out.

Cracked Mirror @ faMESHed

SO, hopefully you’re aware that faMESHed has started its’ new round…? Well, if not, now you are.

For faMESHed, Cracked Mirror released this really cute track outfit. My good friend Maci Restless and I decided to put our new outfits to good use and take a power walk around The Grounds.
